Vermont Elopements: Places to Elope in Vermont

Let’s chat one of my favorite things: Vermont elopements and the best places to elope in Vermont. Ditch the large weddings, and focus on an intimate wedding — something stress-free, and easy for your wedding day. Whether you’re down for an adventure wedding or something more low-key, your elopement day can be as extra and detail-filled as you want, or be as simple and easy as you want. That’s the beauty of eloping for your special day.

As a Vermont elopement photographers team, we offer wedding photography and Vermont elopement packages. Our elopement packages include photography and planning support. An elopement ceremony in Vermont requires a justice of the peace — with our packages we offer vendor referrals to make your wedding and elopement perfect!

We love referring couples to some of the most quintessential Vermont bed and breakfasts. When it comes to traditions like wedding cake, and first looks — all these little things are totally up to you. You do not have to include anything. A Vermont wedding or elopement can always be exactly what you want it to be — and we’re always here to help guide you to shape up what that looks like.

Lake Champlain: Northern Vermont Elopements

One of our favorite mountain view-lake view spots for elopements is Lake Champlain. With plenty of public and free locations, as well as a few that require permits, there are so many intimate spots to use for your Vermont elopement.

Stowe: Elope in the Vermont Mountains

Nestled in the Green Mountains, Stowe is a small village at the base of Mount Mansfield. Year round, this is one of our favorite locations for elopements in Vermont. Hike up to the top of Mount Mansfield in late fall/winter, or drive up in spring/summer or use any of the parks and hotel gardens throughout the village for something a little more low-key.

Rural Elopements in Vermont: Northeast Kingdom

By far driving through the Northeast Kingdom is one of my favorite summer/fall things to do. Snag an Airbnb or book at Highland Lodge. and elope somewhere off the beaten path in the Northeast Kingdom, grab pizza at Parker Pie after.

Elope on a Mountain: Burke Mountain

Up in the Northeast Kingdom, you’ll find Burke Mountain. If you’re more into adventuring, bring your bikes and head off on trails after your Vermont elopement. Burke is also the perfect spot to elope at the top of a mountain and snowboard down.

Southern Vermont Elopements: Killington Mountain

Killington is one of my favorite spots to elope if you’re looking for an easy breezy weekend Vermont elopement. In winter you can elope on the slopes, in summer elope on the trails — either way it’ll be a beautiful elopement ceremony.

Magic Mountain: Off the Beaten Path Location for an Elopement

A lesser known mountain in Southern Vermont, Magic is perfect for the couple who wants to hideaway and have a more intimate elopement day. Rent an Airbnb with stellar views, or just snag a bomb hotel room for the weekend. Another great spot to elope on the trails or slopes, Magic is awesome anytime of year, even stick season.

Historical Properties in Southern Vermont: Bennington Elopements

If you’ve never been to Old Bennington, go. Just go. Filled with lots of historical buildings there are tons of beautiful little spots to elope nestled into this village of old historical properties.

Hogback Mountain: An Easy Breezy Mountain Elopement Location

Another off the beaten path mountain, Hogback is perfect for the person wanting mountain views without mountain hikes. Snag pizza and beer at Bear Naked Brewery after, and have your ceremony just the two of you anytime of year across the street.
