Top Upstate New York Wedding Venues

Picking out your wedding venue can feel like a challenge — there are so many Upstate New York wedding venues, it can be tricky to find the perfect wedding venue for your weekend getaway wedding.

Having photographed over 150 weddings and working at wedding venues throughout the Catskills and Hudson Valley, I know what makes for great wedding experiences in the area. I put together this guide to help couples find the perfect venue in the Upstate New York region with lots to offer for a great weekend getaway wedding.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns

630 Bedford Rd, Tarrytown, New York

Why I Love Weddings at Blue Hill at Stone Barns

Nestled into the Westchester County countryside, Blue Hill at Stone Barns offers private dining for intimate and blow out affairs. With multiple environments for your wedding day, there is lots of space to spread out: a covered veranda, wedding suite with a shower, Haybarn, ceremony space under the magnolia tree and in the gardens, and more. One of the best features is that so much is taken care of: the catering, the rentals, and parking/valet are all provided by the wedding venue. All you need is hair and makeup, attire, photo/video, and entertainment.

Previous couples have found the wedding staff to be professional, thorough, and attentive, with waitstaff the day off to be similarly thoughtful and invested. The food is something that your guests will never forget as the restaurant and catering team has won so many awards and put together a beautiful menu for folks. The historical barn and property provides ample spaces for photos and to spread out with a loved one for a private moment or two.

Something fairly personal to me, as someone that is gluten free and dairy free it can be really challenging to find wedding venues anywhere that can adequately accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies. The team at Blue Hill at Stone Barns is very capable with multiple reviews across sites noting that their gluten free dairy free menus were incredible and that the team was very capable of accommodating to different restrictions.

  • Over 15,000 square feet of indoor space
  • Professional and experienced events staff
