The Hildene // Vermont Wedding Venues

The Hildene is one of my favorite wedding venues in New England. A Vermont wedding venue nestled into South-Central Vermont, the wedding venue showcases a different side of Vermont—the gilded era. The gardens outside showcase the best views of the Taconic and Green Mountains. Guests will enjoy this destination wedding venue, and the surrounding region all weekend long.

Just outside of Manchester, Vermont, there are tons of area hotels, bed and breakfasts, inns, and Airbnbs for your guests and wedding party. A summer wedding at the Hildene offers one of the most picturesque experiences for your family, friends, and wedding guests. The Hildene can accommodate weddings of all sizes, from small intimate weddings to large affairs.

The History of the Hildene Estate

One thing you may not know is that this estate was the former home of Abraham Lincoln’s eldest son Robert Todd Lincoln. Built in the early 1900’s the Hildene now serves as a museum and event venue. Hosting the local prom definitely is a treat for local students. Throughout the Hildene you’ll find historical artifacts — the property is maintained as a museum during the Monday to Friday hours. A nice touch to your wedding — your investment at this venue helps keep the museum operational.

The Hildene — A Vermont Estate Wedding Venue

With numerous environments inside and out, the Hildene offers unique experiences for weddings at this historic, Manchester Vermont area wedding venue. Unlike many of the hotel wedding venues in the area, this wedding venue is a breathtaking historic estate, perfectly maintained year round. The wedding venue feels out of a French countryside with gardens surrounding the historic property.
