Although they got ready in the same room, the two didn't get to see each other before getting fully dressed. The two opted to have a first look on the porch, Anna coming down the stairs to meet Andrew just outside the main doors.  The two walked down the green to a spot where they could pop their champagne and spend a moment enjoying the view.

The two got ready together, separating as things got closer and opting for a first look to build some anticipation.  Being able to spend time together beforehand was so important to both.  Friends phoned in to help Anna with her makeup and hair, while Andrew completed transferring his vows.

The two opted for an intimate elopement just the two of them — the sound from the water drowning out their vows from anyone else listening in.  Having the most private of vows and ceremonies made sense for the couple, who often spend quite a bit of time apart due to their careers in the military.
