San Diego has some of the most beautiful wedding venues that we have ever seen. With so many amazing spaces, it can be hard to know where to start looking. Whether you’re looking for something intimate or more of a party, this city has something for everyone. Take time to visit the zoo or one of the many museums during your stay, they make great spots for wedding photos.

We love this sunny city in Southern California for winter weddings. A great destination any time of year, San Diego is a nice break from the chill of Northern states. Temperatures average in the 70s during the colder months, which is great for some, but be prepared for a few stares if you hit the beach in December!

Outdoor San Diego Wedding Venues

Balboa Park

Able to host any sized party, Balboa Park has tons of perfect venues for your San Diego wedding. This huge city park is full of beautiful gardens and museums. Some of our favorite places in this gorgeous space are gathered here for you to check out.

Romantic and intimate, the Japanese Friendship Garden tucked into the side of the park is a 12-acre private space. Full of sparking ponds and paths that wind among lush trees, this venue is ideal for small weddings. In the spring, the cherry tree grove is perfect for an intimate ceremony surrounded by loved ones and gorgeous blossoms. A covered pavilion is also tucked among the gardens, making a dreamy space for dancing and photos.

Paradise Point

Tucked away on a 44-acre island in Mission Bay, Paradise Point Resort & Spa has many venues to host your San Diego wedding at. Tranquil lagoons and lush tropical gardens set the perfect background for your big day. Beaches scattered with palm trees make ideal locations for photo shoots. Host your ceremony on Pine Hill, a secluded area surrounded by gardens and lagoons featuring floating pagodas. For a classic oceanfront wedding, book the Island Point Lawn. Surrounded by sandy beaches and palm trees, this is an iconic California wedding destination.

Paradise Point can accommodate weddings of up to 400 people. This space is also ideal for wedding showers rehearsal dinners. With an on-site wedding team and dedicated staff, this amazing San Diego venue can meet any need. Sound and lighting systems are included to make your day one of a kind. Meet with in-house professional hair and makeup artists to plan your look. Pamper yourself and your bridal party with spa services the day before your wedding, and then relax in the lush garden.

Rose Creek Cottage

This historic Tudor-style venue features a chapel and surrounding grounds are ideal for ceremonies and wedding photos. A gazebo located in the garden patio makes a great space for receptions and dancing. An intimate location, Rose Creek Cottage can host 60 guests. This makes this venue a perfect place for elopements and small ceremonies.

An all-inclusive venue, Rose Creek Cottage will provide all that will be needed for your day. However, you can hire outside vendors as long as they are insured and you sign a waiver. A tent can be made available for your use at an additional charge.

San Diego Indoor Wedding Venues

The Pannikin Building

Located in the heart of San Diego’s historic Gaslamp District, the Pannikin Building is an awesome wedding venue. Exposed brick, beautiful wood floors, and vaulted ceilings create a romantic setting for your wedding day. With original details, this space takes you back in time. Host cocktail hour in the downstairs bar between your ceremony and reception. A lounge is set aside in this lower space for the groom and groomsmen to prepare. A bridal lounge is available for use on the main floor.

The Pannikin partners with Together For Better Events for premiere planning with discounted rates, but welcomes other vendors. An in-house coordinator will be in constant communication throughout the entire planning process, and will be available the day of your wedding. With over 42,000 square ft. of space, this venue is fully customizable and includes 3 portable bars.

Luce Loft

A gorgeous wedding venue in San Diego’s historic Gaslamp District, Luce Loft is located in the historic Carnation Dairy warehouse. An open floor plan means you can use the space however you want. Wood beamed barrel ceilings and exposed brick walls give Luce Loft a cozy and vintage feeling. Large windows all along the building fill this venue with natural light. The balcony over the main floor is perfect for a dramatic entrance to your ceremony. It is also an ideal place for photos. This venue can host weddings of up to 150 people.

Luce Loft is a “blank canvas venue”, which means you can create the wedding of your dreams from the bottom up. Tables, linens, and china are available for your use at this event space. A sound system and market lights are also included. While they do not provide catering or bar service, an inclusive list of wedding vendors is available for your use.

The Most Fun Wedding Venue in San Diego: the New Children’s Museum

Full of light and amazing displays, the New Children’s Museum is a one-of-a-kind venue for your San Diego wedding. Floor to ceiling windows fill allow natural light to illuminate this space. There are 3 floors available to make your wedding dreams come true. While every level is great for any event, the main floor is ideal for dancing. Take photos at many of the displays, including the play ground created entirely from crochet by the amazing artist Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdams, the twin to a piece located in Japan. A park across the road from the museum is also available for your use.

While the New Children’s Museum only provides a space, they do strongly suggest you choose a vendor from their list of preferred professionals. Not only do these companies have flawless records, they have worked very closely with the museum to create exceptional experiences. Parking is available in their underground lot or at metered lots in the neighborhood.
