Mystic CT Engagement Photographer

Lenka + Emily

As a Mystic CT engagement photographer, I was super excited when Emily and Lenka wanted to do their engagement photos in Mystic CT. Their wedding day would make it tricky to get tons of photos in the beautiful downtown area. It was very appealing to the two to have their engagement photos in a town so meaningful to them.

In Mystic, CT there are tons of small businesses, cute streets, and beautiful landscapes to use for engagement photos. I was really excited to use some of the locations we would enjoy on their CT wedding day later the following year. Meeting up around golden hour allowed us to tour the area at a leisurely pace through sunset and blue hour.

Choosing an Engagement Location

The two had an easy decision when it came to where the two wanted to do their engagement session. While Newport was definitely a contender, being able to incorporate a location that is so meaningful to them was really important. The two get to see Newport every day, while Mystic has been a location where they have celebrated special occasions.

A CT Engagement Photographer in Mystic

Mystic is such a great town to do engagement photos in. As a Mystic CT engagement photographer, there’s tons of nooks and beautiful little parks dotted throughout Mystic that make capturing couples walking around Mystic easy. The two met me at the Whaler’s Inn, one of my favorite inns in New England. We celebrated with a bottle of champagne, and then walked around the neighborhood from there.

Using an Activity for Your Engagement Photos in CT

Walking around Mystic made it easy to chat and get to know one another. Part of building vulnerability and trust is talking and getting to know each other. As the two strolled along, I got to know more about their relationship, and their journey together, and to each other. It made for a nostalgic time, that pushed emotions, and drew out natural interactions. This allowed for super natural images together, and poses/prompts that felt natural to the couple.
