Caitlin and Kevin wanted a Cushman House wedding for a variety of reasons. The two have shared a love of family vacations on Block Island and wanted to emulate that experience for their guests. A barefoot Block Island wedding was always in the cards, and something that felt more casual and matched the pace of a Block Island family vacation made sense.
A Cushman House wedding is a different kind of Block Island wedding. It’s not the high end, lots of florals, upscale destination wedding that everyone expects. Rather, it’s more casual, familiar, nostalgic. The house is a vacation house on the Neck, facing Crescent Beach. There’s a path that leads to the beach — which is usually used for a beach ceremony. When you come back for cocktail hour, most clients opt to use the large wrap around porch, with the tent for a Block Island wedding reception.
